Zeb Morgan, a retired physician, died peacefully at home in his sleep Sunday night. He was 85.  He is survived by his wife, Anne Robertson Morgan, and his children, Laura Moore, Churchill Morgan and Morgan Shorey, their husbands and wives, Tyre, Helen, and Fred, his brother Richard Morgan, nieces Alice L. Sherwood, Mary Anita Morgan, Linda Lane, and his grandchildren, Katherine, Elizabeth and Amelia Waggoner and Tyre Moore, Jr., Melissa Shorey, and Clay Shorey.  A son of the Carolina Sandhills, Zeb was born in Hamlet, NC, descended from a long line of pragmatic North Carolinians.   He was a man who could always be counted on to keep things in perspective.  Zeb graduated from Wake Forest University in 1951, and the Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1954.   He practiced medicine for more than 40 years in Decatur, Georgia, first on Church Street, and then near DeKalb General Hospital, where he served as Chief of Internal Medicine. He was above all a faithful husband and caring father whose dry humor and self-effacing country wisdom will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.  A visitation will be held Saturday, October 26th, from 2pm until 4pm at H.M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, 4550 Peachtree Road Ne, Atlanta, GA 30319.  A memorial service, followed by a reception, will be held Sunday, October 27th  at 2pm at Brookhaven Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 4500 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30319.  If you'd prefer to make a donation in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University or the Woodruff Arts Center.
