Edwin Clark Hill died September 7, 2012. He was born on July 30, 1923 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of Edwin C. Hill of Cleveland, Ohio and Genevieve Harper Hill of Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Boy’s High School in 1939 and entered Georgia Tech where he was a member of the fraternity, Alpha Tau Omega. Called to military service in 1943, he served with the 42nd Rainbow Infantry Division. Deployed to France and Germany, they helped liberate the Dachau Concentration Camp. Edwin Clark Hill died September 7, 2012. He was born on July 30, 1923 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of Edwin C. Hill of Cleveland, Ohio and Genevieve Harper Hill of Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Boy’s High School in 1939 and entered Georgia Tech where he was a member of the fraternity, Alpha Tau Omega. Called to military service in 1943, he served with the 42nd Rainbow Infantry Division. Deployed to France and Germany, they helped liberate the Dachau Concentration Camp. As a result of his battlefield actions, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for valor. Returning to Georgia Tech in 1947, he graduated in 1949 and joined NL industries where he was Regional Sales Manager until retirement. Married in 1949 to Loraine Newton, he is survived by their daughter, Honey Hill Ashley and son-in-law, Mark Stephen Ashley. He was a member of the Cherokee Town & Country Club and was a Commander of the American Legion Post 134. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 11th at 1 o’clock at Arlington Memorial Park.
